Terms of use

Effective 25 October 2026

By installing and using Delest, you accept the terms below.

The app

Delest is provided free of charge, under the MIT licence, for personal and professional use. It is provided “as is”: the developer makes every effort for it to work well, without guaranteeing it is free of errors.

What Delest deletes, and your decisions

Delest deletes nothing without your consent. It proposes folders, you choose them, then they go into the quarantine for seven days before being deleted; “Delete permanently” erases them at once. Read the preview before confirming: a folder may take time to rebuild (a full build) or need the network (dependencies to download again). Keep backups of your work: Delest is not one.

What the AI does, and its limits

The local model's opinions and your agent's answers may be wrong or incomplete. They never make a folder deletable: the decision is yours.

Models and open-source software

Delest uses models and software published under open licences, including EmbeddingGemma 2, Gemma 4 E2B and Qwen3.5 2B (Apache 2.0 licence), llama.cpp and Tauri. Each remains under its own licence.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the developer cannot be held liable for indirect damage arising from the use of Delest, in particular data lost after a deletion you confirmed.

Changes

These terms may change with the app. The new version will be published on this page, with its date.
